  • Equality Week (Friday) - Mindful Monsters Non Uniform Day

    Wed 26 Jun 2019

    Dear Parents and Carers,

As part of Equality Week, pupils have been learning about Mindfulness through a programme devised by the charity, Scope.  The programme is called Mindful Monsters.   Friday 28th June 2019  is a non  school uniform day based on the Mindful Monsters characters.

There are 4 characters who have individual colours and attributes:

    Creativity is pink

    Positivity is orange

    Relaxation is blue

    Concentration is purple

Your child may choose one colour and wear this on Friday.  For example, they could wear a scarf, head band, jumper, wrist band, socks, trousers, t- shirt or come dressed in their chosen colour from head to toe!  There  is no charge for this dressing up day.

We look forward to seeing your child dressed as a Mindful Monster!

    Kindest Regards

  • Filming at Oakfield

    Tue 25 Jun 2019

Oakfield played host to a media film company this week who have been commissioned to shoot across the 3 schools in our trust and create a short film to showcase what The Galaxy Trust can offer to our community. We are incredibly proud of the effort!

  • Year 5 trip to Greenwich

    Wed 12 Jun 2019

    Dear Parents and Carers,

RE:  Year 5 Trip to Royal Observatory, Greenwich

We have 95 children in Year 5 and as of Monday 10th June, we were still to receive payment contributions from 42 parents.

Sadly, this is not enough of a financial contribution to allow the trip to go ahead.

The deadline for receiving payments is MONDAY 17th JUNE.

Please be aware that unless a significant number of payments are received, the trip will need to be cancelled and all parents will receive a full refund, but the trip will not go ahead for our children and no alternative will be made.

    Kind regards,

    Year 5 team

  • Amazing learning at home

    Wed 12 Jun 2019

    AMAZING LEARNING AT HOME

Oakfield think it's very important to explore new themes in all subjects before starting the learning.

Nicholas in Year 2 has shown how this explorative approach is clearly embedding his learning.

He produced these amazing pieces at home highlighting his maths and science learning.

    Well done to Nicholas!

Thank you for sharing your learning.
