Welcome

Welcome to Oakfield Primary Academy and thank you for visiting our website!

I am incredibly proud to be the CEO of The Golden Thread Alliance.  I am confident that every child will thrive – I absolutely insist that every child and every family at Oakfield is treated with respect and that every child is treated as an individual.

Oakfield is a friendly, vibrant and exciting place for children to learn.  We offer a wide range of activities and cater for the needs of all children. Oakfield Primary Academy is located in Dartford, Kent, and has been open since September 2008. Oakfield was amalgamated from an Infant and Nursery school and a Junior school. We are now in our brand new, purpose built building with innovative design and state-of-the-art facilities.

We currently work in partnership with Culverstone Green Primary School, Fleetdown Primary Academy, Meopham Community Academy, Riverview Infant School, Riverview Junior School, Temple Hill Primary Academy, West Hill Primary Academy and Wrotham Road Primary School - these nine schools form The Golden Thread Alliance and we are working tirelessly to ensure that every child across each school has equality of opportunity and equality of provision.

We hope you enjoy exploring our website, but nothing will be as good as paying us a visit!  If you are new to the area, please call to make an appointment to view the school.  If you are an existing parent, you know you are regularly invited in to school.  Once again, thank you for visiting and we hope you enjoy your visit.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Accounting Officer (CAO)

About Us

Oakfield Primary Academy is a large school with 716 children aged 3-11 years on roll currently.

Our school serves a large residential catchment area. 28 different languages are spoken by our children who come from diverse backgrounds. Currently we have 25% of children who are eligible for Free School Meals.

The School is organised into three main sections:

  • Foundation Years (Nursery and Reception)
  • Key Stage 1 (5-7 year olds)
  • Key Stage 2 (7-11 year olds)

We are fortunate in having a new spacious building comprising of a 104 place nursery, 23 classrooms, 2 halls, 1 library, 1 FLO office, play therapy room, language room, care suite, offices and resource areas outside classrooms.

The school benefits from an extensive range of equipment and apparatus. All classrooms have access to laptops, iPads and an interactive whiteboard.  We have recently added five more classrooms and a brand new hall!

Foundation Stage, KS1 and KS2 have extensive outdoor classroom areas.

Four large playgrounds are supplemented by a playing/sports field, and a pond area with an allotment. The latter serves as an environmental study area for classes.

N.B. A much more comprehensive description of the School and its work can be obtained from the Oakfield Primary Academy Prospectus - available from this website.
