Nursery - Robin/Owl

                                    Welcome to Nursery

Oakfield Community Primary School Nursery has been open since 2008 and has seen many developments, including our new purpose designed building which opened in January 2013.

We offer a safe, secure and stimulating environment where each child is valued and individual needs are met. Our Nursery is run by qualified teachers and early years practitioners who strive to provide our children with high quality learning experiences, helping to lay strong foundations for future learning.

Oakfield staff encourage investigation, exploration and creative thinking, and inspire children to lead their own learning by having their own ideas and choosing their own way to do things. We pride ourselves on delivering a child centred education that is led by children’s individual needs and interests, as well as focusing on developing children’s independence and encouraging them to develop a ‘have a go’ attitude.

At Oakfield Nursery, we are passionate in delivering a holistic education to ensure that all children in our care become confident, self-respecting individuals, empowering them to become life-long learners.

Staff in the Nursery

Pizza and Ice Creams - The children enjoyed ordering, paying for and eating pizzas and ice creams with their friends

Bubble Wrap fun - The children had fun popping bubble wrap by pinching the bubbles between their fingers, squeezing the bubble wrap and best of all jumping up and down on it! We then used some of the bubble wrap for printing.

Plants - After reading an information book about planting, the children wanted to plant their own seeds and plants

Mr Potato Head - The children used fruit and vegetables to create their own Mr Potato Head

Easter Craft - The children liked working with their parents and grandparents to make Easter baskets, plant a sunflower seed and much more!

Sports Relief - The children worked together to become a human train as they walked their 'mile!'

Double, double, toil and trouble - The children always have so much fun making potions, mud pies and much more in the mud kitchen

World Book Day - The children dressed in their pyjamas and enjoyed sharing their favourite bed time story with their friends

Super Smoothies - We had lots of fun making our own healthy smoothies to drink.

Colour Explosion - We enjoyed developing our gross motor skills by creating colourful puddles.

Christmas Crackers - A selection of photos from the festive period!

Maths Day - We had fun showing off our mathematical knowledge to our parents and grandparents.

Halloween Highlights - A selection of spooky photographs!

We turned our classroom into a hairdressers - We had lots of fun (pretending) to wash, cut and colour our friends hair. We also made an appointment book and write down appointment times for each appointment.

A visit from professional swimmer, Chris Cook

Racing fun - we made a steep slope using a mat and enjoyed racing our trucks down it. We then measured how far our truck had traveled and compared the distances.

Where learning, laughter, challenge and community responsibility are encouraged and celebrated!
