School Uniform

All clothes must be labelled clearly with the name of your child.

• Grey skirt or trousers
• White blouse, shirt, or polo t-shirt
• Purple Sweater
• White, grey or black socks
• Black shoes (not trainers)
• In warmer weather, the children can wear check purple and white dresses, grey or black shorts. Sensible, secure sandals may be worn during hot weather. These sandals must have a ‘back’ where your child’s foot is securely tied in to avoid accidents. White sandals may be worn during this time only. Sandals are worn at parent/carer discretion, the school cannot be held responsible for any injuries that occur due to unsafe, loose sandals.

PE Kit

Please provide the following:

• Trainers for outside activities
• Plimsolls for indoor activities
• Black or grey shorts
• Plain black or grey tracksuit
• A t-shirt of your child’s designated house team colour

PE kit should be worn to school on your child’s designated PE day.

Jewellery

No jewellery is to be worn in school. Rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings etc are a hazard in school. We have a duty of care to keep every child safe and mitigating risk will allow us to do so.

• Wearing of jewellery can result in tearing or piercing of flesh;
• There is a potential for injury to the wearer due to inadvertent contact of jewellery with other people, clothing etc;
• There is a risk to other people especially at playtimes and PE lessons where injury could occur due to contact with jewellery worn by another person;
• There is a risk of injury to the wearer from removing tape used to cover jewellery if the tape pulls the jewellery as it is removed. Some people can have an allergic reaction to plasters or adhesive tape and this needs to be considered.

However, there is one exception: jewellery may be worn if required for medical reasons, e.g. a medical bracelet. In these circumstances parents or carers must apply in writing to the Headteacher.

Watches should not be smart watches and not linked to mobile phones or have photo taking functions.  Watches may be worn by children who can tell the time, they are not to be worn as a fashion accessory.

Unbranded school uniform is acceptable.

Second hand uniform is available to purchase from the PTA (usually termly), subject to availability. Any other concerns about school uniform, please make an appointment with the school family liaison officer.

Jeans and tracksuit bottoms are not considered suitable for school and should not be worn. For safety reasons sensible, low heeled shoes with backs are insisted upon.
