Curriculum Overview

Our Curriculum Statement of Intent

We are passionate about creating learners who show attitudes and habits of curiosity, confidence and independence.

Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural opportunities at Oakfield (SMSC)

We strive to ensure that all children have a wider appreciation and developing awareness of SMSC within their learning.

The following table highlights some of the ways in which we incorporate this within our curriculum and wider learning opportunities.

If you would like further information about your child’s curriculum in their year group, please speak to the class teacher in the first instance.

Information regarding the right to withdraw your child from all or part of Religious Education (RE)

Parents  and carers have a statutory right to withdraw their child from religious education (RE) and collective worship, either in full or in part.

No reason needs to be given for this request.

Schools are required to supervise withdrawn pupils but are not obliged to provide alternative teaching during these times.

If you wish to withdraw your child from significant Christian events, such as Easter and Christmas and/or RE as a whole or from specific sections, please use the link below to inform the school. The Kent Agreed Syllabus can be found online for your reference.

If you have previously informed the school of this decision, there is no need to complete the form again, unless your choices have changed. Please note that you may exercise your right to withdraw at any time by notifying the school in writing. As previously stated, if you are not withdrawing your child from any event or lesson, no action is required.
