  The Galaxy Trust would like to send their sincere condolences to The Royal Family on the sad news of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.  Earlier this year, the whole Galaxy community celebrated The Queen’s Jubilee – a fitting tribute to such a remarkable woman.

• Year 2 Hearing Screening Survey

  We have been asked to share this survey with you on behalf of Kent County Council who are reviewing the school entry hearing screening programme.

   

  Children in Reception Year are offered a school entry hearing screen by the Kent School Health Service in school or clinic. This year (and also last year) the programme has been delivered differently as a result of Covid-19 and families have been given the opportunity to opt into the programme if they have concerns about their child’s hearing.

  If your child is in Year 2 please complete our 10-minute survey by the 12th of March 2021, so that your views can be included in any future plans for the screening programme.

• SCHOOL CLOSED TODAY

  Unfortunately, we are having to close the school until further notice.  This most definitely is not ideal, especially as we have all been looking forward to opening this week and thoroughly enjoyed yesterday.  However, having assessed the grounds and surrounding roads and pavements it is not safe for parents, carers, children or staff.  We had some staff as well as parents who took a fall yesterday even with parts of the grounds salted.  Health and safety are of the utmost importance and overnight there is now a serious amount of ice around the school grounds.  We will of course inform you once it is safe for school to reopen.  Children will have to revert back to the online learning until we reopen.
